  Washington Gas Energy Services (WGES): one of the largest and most experienced energy suppliers in the Mid-Atlantic region with more than 300,000 customers in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, D.C. and Pennsylvania and nearly 100 employees. The WGES natural gas product now includes locally-sourced WGES CleanSteps^® Carbon Offsets matched to your natural gas usage. The WGES CleanSteps^® Carbon Offsets feature enhancement supports new and existing local projects that help reduce the emission of harmful greenhouse gases in our environment.

  Sterling Planet (SP): a leading retailer of wind, solar, bioenergy and other types of renewable energy. SP helps clients reduce their environmental impact with verified carbon offsets; over the past 10 years they have offset more than 45 billion pounds of carbon dioxide. SP secures the carbon offsets needed to support the WGES CleanSteps^® Carbon Offsets.

  Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF): the only independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated solely to restoring and protecting the Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers. Today CBF has over 217,000 members and 160 employees. CBF will manage Carbon Reduction Fund resources, investing in new, local carbon offset projects that will then be supplied to WGES as part of the WGES CleanSteps^® Carbon Offsets feature enhancement.

The company's intermodal volumes have grown from 20 loads in 1989 to more than 850,000 loads today. The initial carbon offset supply will come from the company's regional intermodal operations.
