Green‐e® Energy is the nation's leading independent certification and consumer protection program for the sale of renewable energy and greenhouse gas reductions in the retail market. In 2009, Green‐e Energy certified retail sales totaled over 18 million megawatt hours of green power and RECs. The Green‐e logo is the national symbol for renewable energy excellence.

EPA Green Power Partnership

The EPA's Green Power Partnership is a voluntary program launched in 2001 as a way to promote and recognize organizations that buy renewable power. Buying green power is an easy and effective way to improve your organization's environmental performance.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is an internationally recognized green building certification program by the non‐profit U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is a national framework used for certifying high performance, sustainable buildings. There are currently four levels of LEED certifications: Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The number of points a project can receive for its purchase of Renewable Energy Credits varies based on the project type.

As a WGES CleanSteps® WindPower customer, you can use your purchase of Green‐e Energy certified Renewable Energy Credits to earn LEED certification points. To learn more about LEED, visit www.usgbc.org or contact your account manager.
