Since deregulation began in the Mid-Atlantic region in 1995, energy suppliers have come and gone...WGES is here to stay and is fully committed to meet the energy needs for large commercial customers in the mid-Atlantic region. WGES is a subsidiary of WGL Holdings, and is an affiliate of a company that has served the Washington metropolitan area for over 150 years, Washington Gas. Customers can expect stability and reliability from WGES and that is what we will provide.

Large Commercial Eligible Products

  • Natural Gas: Commercial (non-residential) account, or aggregated accounts, using more than 40,000 annual therms/CCFs which approximates a total annual gas bill of more than $70,000.
  • Electricity: Commercial (non-residential) account using more than 600,000 annual kilo-watt hours which approximates a total annual electricity bill of more than $70,000.
  • Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) Only: Commercial (non-residential) account for which only RECs are purchased from WGES.  A customer purchasing RECs does not need to purchase electricity, and can be located anywhere in WGES's service territory.
  • Green Power (Electricity + RECs): Commercial (non-residential) electric account of which a percentage of electrical usage is bundled with RECs.
